Personalized Encryption Key

When you set up a PC Data Backups account, you choose your own Personalized Encryption Key.

Unlike our competition, we don't have access to our clients' encryption keys. That way, you never need to worry about the privacy of the sensitive information you are storing with us. Simply stated, no one but you can access or unencypt your data.

That's why we always remind you to print out multiple copies of your account number and encryption phrase and store them in two secure locations, both locally and offsite. If you lose it, we cannot help you recover your data.

To print your account number and encyrption phrase:

• Open your PC Data Backups program.
• Under the Options menu, click Security.
• Click the View Encyption Key button, then Print.

Your encryption key is a least 8 characters and case sensitive.
