Download Instructions
1) Download Backup Plan
Click the button for the backup account that you want. Not sure which plan to use? Read "Selecting the right backup plan".
2) File Download Security Warning
- Windows asks you whether you want to open the installation file or save it.
- For safest installation, click Open or Run. (Depending on your browser.)
- If you prefer to save the installation file to your hard disk and install later, click Save. (Not recommended - If someone activates this again later it will overwrite your account.)
- Select a folder on your hard disk and click Save again.
- Find the file on your hard disk and open it by double-clicking it.
3) Downloading Progress Dialog
- Wait until downloading progress bar completes.
4) IE Security Warning
- Depending on your browser's security settings, you may or may not see this screen.
- If you see this screen, click the “Run” Button to continue with the installation.
5) Agent Setup
- By default, the program will be installed in C:\Program Files\PC Data Backups.
- Most users will want to install into this default directory - recomended!
- If you do not want the default, click the Browse button and select a different directory.
- Please leave the Agent service Account assigned to the LOCAL SYSTEM unless you are installing the Mapped Drive version of PC Data Backups software.
(*If you are installing the mapped drive version, you will need to assign this to an administrators account, click the change button, and enter the administrator account and password.)
- Click the Install button.
The program will download and install in just a few minutes unless you have a particularly slow Internet connection.
6) Agent Setup (2)
- To continue with the installation click: “Run”.
- Alternatively, you can view the "Read Me" text or "Overview" (help files).
