Encryption Key Instructions

1. Open PC Data Backups

   
   You will want to make a record of your account information!
   
   You will need this if you ever need to re-establish your account in order to recover your data. PC Data Backups does not have your encryption key, nor can we get it for you later.
   
   Steps to print a copy of your encryption key and your other important account data:
   
   Open your PC Data Backups software:
   
   Start > Programs (or All Programs) > PC Data Backups)
   
   
   
   
   

2. Options Menu

   1.  Once PC Data Backups is open, click on the “Options” Menu,
   2.  Select “Security…”
      
      
      
      

3. View Encryption Key

   Now click: “View Encryption Key”.
   
   

4. Print

   1. To print your encryption key, click the “Print” button.
   2. This will print out all your account information including your Account ID, Encryption Key, Account Password (if used), computer name, etc.
   3. Print out multiple copies and store them safely, at least one offsite.
