How do I back up Peachtree?

  1. Run a backup within Peachtree itself.
Peachtree accounts are normally managed on a per company basis, and then each backup file is named for that particular company. The file name will end in a ".ptb" extension. An example would be: "AcmeCompany.ptb"
  2. Save this file to your hard drive.
(You should store all Peachtree backups in the same location (folder) on your hard drive. We recommend that you use the default location, but you can also create your own folder, and then browse to it when you save the files.)
  3. In the PC Data Backups software, select that entire folder for backup.
    1. Open PC Data Backups
    2. Select the "Backup View" tab
    3. Click the "Explore to Pick Files" button
    4. Open folders in the left window until you reach the folder containing your Peachtree files
    5. Highlight that folder (In the left window)
    6. In the right window, click inside the box left of the folder you just highlighted in the left window.
    7. Select "Backup all files in this folder", then click OK.
