Can I view my backup logs from another location?

Scenario: The backup is happening on a remote location (E.g. a server, or other network location), and a local user wants to be able to view the backup log to verify that the backup did complete successfully. Can this be set up?

Yes, it is possible for those with highly advanced IT skills to set this up.
WARNING: Do not share the PC Data Backups folder and try to run the executable via the network. This will render the software unusable from any location!
The safe way to do this is via the use of an automated batch file.
  1. Create a folder on the users (remote) PC.
  2. Place a copy of agnentlogger.exe in that folder.
  3. Use a batch file to copy C:\Program Files\PC Data Backups\Log (the log folder) into this same folder on the users (remote) PC.
  4. This batch file should be ran daily via Windows Task Scheduler, timed to work after the backups occur, so the current backup log is available to be viewed.
  5. Create a shortcut to this agentlogger.exe on the desktop (Or wherever desired)
Instruct your user to open this shortcut to check the log, and educate them on what to look for.

They will not be able to open or view the actual Backup software, only the log.
