Will PC Data Backups work with a Dial-up connection? How do I set it up?

Yes, PC Data Backups will work with a Dial-up connection, but normally only for the smaller account sizes (i.e. 100 MB, possibly 4 GB).

Dial-ups work automatically with some exceptions. For example AOL and Earthlink don’t like to let other software open their connection and you may need to start the connection manually before running a backup.

To configure your modem to work:
  • Open the PC Data Backups software.
  • Select >Options, then >Connection...
  • Highlight: "Use Dial-up Networking connection".
  • In the drop down box choose the correct dial-up connection.
  • Click "OK"
