How do I find my PC Data Backups account number and encryption key?


Finding and recording your account information: (account number, encryption key, and your password if you have used one)

You will want to make a record of your account information.

You will need this information if you ever need to re-establish your account in order to recover your data!

(If you did not do this when originally set up your account, you should do it now!)

We recommend that you create two copies, and take one copy offsite in case of a fire. Both should be stored in a secure location.

Steps to print a copy of your encryption key and your other account data:
  1. Open your PC Data Backups software (>Start >Programs (or All Programs) >PC Data Backups >PC Data Backups.)
  2. Once PC Data Backups is open, click on the “Options” Menu,
  3. Select “Security…”
  4. And then click: “View Encryption Key”.
  5. To print your encryption key, click the “Print” button. This will print out all your account information.
