Why is Microsoft Office 2000, including Outlook 2000, no longer supported?

PC Data Backups no longer supports Microsoft Office 2000 (including Outlook 2000) because Micros soft itself does not support it.

Outlook 2000 in particular may present the user with problems related to e-mail restoration.  Microsoft has changed the MAPI service.  The MAPI service used in Outlook 2000 is no longer supported by Microsoft.  The result is that you may have difficulty restoring your e-mail, (PST) files, and in certain cases the PST file may not be able to be restored.

Outlook 2000 also appears to be especially vulnerable to attacks by e-mail viruses.

PC Data Backups recommends to it’s customers that they Upgrade to the latest version of Microsoft Office, and especially the latest version of Outlook, to ensure that their data is protected.
