What if I lose my Personalized Encryption Key?
We cannot help you if you lose your Personalized Encryption
Key. Your encryption and decryption key is designed for your security. If you do not have
access to the original software and do not have the printed page that you were prompted to print during the
installation, then you will not be able to access your backup! With
128-Bit AES Encryption there is no "reset" key.
- To view your encryption key if your PC Data Backups software is running, click on the
Options
Menu, select
Security, and click View Encryption Key.
- To print your encryption key, click the Print button. Change number of copies to 2. Click OK. Store the
printout copies in two separate, safe locations.
