Delta Block incremental
We only send Delta Block incrementals of your data every day, versus the traditional file level method that sends the entire
file every time it changes.
Since we only send Delta Block level incrementals, daily backups usually only take a few minutes a day. If a file changes on
a given day, we do not actually resend that entire file, we only send the delta block incremental changes within the file
itself.
For example: If you have a 100 MB accounting file that is changed every day, we do not actually resend
that entire 100 MB file every night. We only send the Delta Block incremental changes within that file itself; subsequently,
daily backups are extremely fast ... typically only a few minutes a day.
Using Delta Block versus file level incrementals is the fastest and most secure way to send your daily backups to the data
centers, especially if you have limited bandwidth (like a 56K dial-up) . When you
change data within a particular data file, the actual changes to that file on the "hard drive level" is usually very minimal.
